Softball Recap: Hughesville Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Hughesville got themselves on the board against Southern Columbia Area on Tuesday, but Southern Columbia Area never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Tigers. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Hughesville got a massive performance out of Adelyn Knight, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. Jayla Koser also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Hughesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .323 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Hughesville's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Southern Columbia Area, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
