The Fort Wayne Northrop Bruins will head out on the road to challenge the Warsaw Tigers at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Wayne Northrop is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Fort Wayne Northrop ended up a good deal behind Warren Central and lost 57-39. While losing is never fun, Fort Wayne Northrop can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Warren Central is ranked 27th).
Despite the loss, Fort Wayne Northrop saw an underclassman step up: Donlaray Reese jr scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ahmad Salam, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Warsaw didn't have too much trouble with Westville at home on Saturday as they won 54-39. The win made it back-to-back wins for Warsaw.
Fort Wayne Northrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Warsaw, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Fort Wayne Northrop came up short against Warsaw in their previous matchup back in January of 2016, falling 61-53. Can Fort Wayne Northrop avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
