Basketball Recap: Delaware Christian Skates Past Northside Christian with Ease

Delaware Christian won the last time they faced Northside Christian and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Delaware Christian Eagles claimed a resounding 54-25 victory over the Northside Christian Lions. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Lions are ranked 592nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Delaware Christian to victory were Addy Beard and Brooke Huffman. Beard dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards, while Huffman posted 21 points. The matchup was Beard's third in a row with at least ten points. Julia Pearch was another key player, putting up six points along with seven assists and three steals.

The win (which was Delaware Christian's third in a row) raised their record to 7-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35 points. As for Northside Christian, their loss was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5.

Delaware Christian will head out to take on Columbus International at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Delaware Christian's defense has only allowed 25.2 points per game this season, so Columbus International's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Northside Christian, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Liberty Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
