It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Hillcrest Jaguars had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They breezed by the Tigers at home to the tune of 66-24. Hillcrest has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 23 points or more this season.
Hillcrest had a senior duo take command as Jermonte Stallworth scored 18 points along with two steals and Jordan Bonner scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bonner has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Robert Simpson, who scored eight points along with four blocks.
The victory was the tenth in a row for Hillcrest, bringing their record for this year to 25-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.1 points per game. As for Straughn, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.
Hillcrest does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Straughn, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-65 win vs. W.S. Neal on the 6th.
