With a playoff game on the line, the Churchill Bulldogs rose to the challenge on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Gaithersburg 41-14 at home. The win was familiar territory for Churchill who now have seven in a row.
It was another big night for David Avit, who rushed for 207 yards and five touchdowns. Avit is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last seven games he's played.
Churchill has yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.0 points per game. As for Gaithersburg, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.
Churchill will be playing in front of their home fans against Bethesda-Chevy Chase at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Gaithersburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
