Washington-Marion not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 14, 2024. They blew past the Hathaway Hornets 19-5. Considering the Charging Indians' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Kelsi Starland made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off two hits. Starland was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Washington-Marion got a massive performance out of Lia Thomas, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs Thomas has posted since back in March. Karmen LeBlanc was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing five bases while going 4-for-4.
Washington-Marion always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .591. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
