If the Manila Mustangs were riding high off their 47-25 takedown of the Altamont Longhorns last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Manila took a hard 43-29 fall against Rich on Saturday. If Manila hoped to take revenge for the 52-30 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Rich's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Molly Weston, who scored 14 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Weston has scored all season. Violett Taylor was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five steals.
Manila's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Rich, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manila will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tintic at 4:30 p.m. on February 9th. As for Rich, they will head out on the road to square off against Kemmerer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Kemmerer is ranked 32nd in Wyoming, while Rich is ranked 43rd in Utah).
