Despite the defeat, South Effingham had strong showings from Corey Woods, who scored four points along with four steals, and Jaquan Albright, who scored three points along with five steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Albright posted two or more blocks.
South Effingham's defeat was their 13th straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-14. As for Effingham County, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
South Effingham won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Grovetown at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. Grovetown knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully South Effingham likes a good challenge. As for Effingham County, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakeside at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lakeside has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-3 during that stretch of close contests.
