Davis has been on the road for six straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Wood Wildcats at TBD on Thursday. Wood took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Davis, who comes in off a win.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact Davis proved on Saturday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-35 win over Elk Grove. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Davis has managed all season.
Davis got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aidan Crawford out in front who scored 17 points. The game was Crawford's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadyn Coaker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wood came up short against Elite on Tuesday and fell 52-45. While losing is never fun, Wood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 920th, while Elite is ranked 350th).
Davis' win bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Wood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Davis strolled past Wood in their previous meeting back in December of 2019 by a score of 77-58. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Wood's Landon Seaman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be that much easier for Davis to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
