Loomis Chaffee School extended their winning streak to four on Friday, bumping their season record up to 4-1 in the process. They came out on top against Miss Porter by a score of 5-2. That's more bragging rights for the Pelicans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
Violet Peverly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on one hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
As for Miss Porter's, they now have a losing record of 1-2. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Miss Porter's side, Gwendolyn Religa was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits (and only one walk).
