On Tuesday, College Prep suffered a rough 75-52 loss at the hands of Head-Royce. While losing is never fun, College Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while Head-Royce is ranked 179th).
Meanwhile, Athenian can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Bentley as Athenian made off with a 59-37 win.
Athenian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Surya Devasenapathy, who scored 17 points. Noah Olivier was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
College Prep's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Athenian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Things could have been worse for College Prep, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-37 loss to Athenian in their previous meeting on Thursday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Athenian's Teni Salako, who scored 20 points. Now that College Prep knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
