After flying high against the Connally Cadets on Saturday, the Nacogdoches Dragons came back down to earth. Nacogdoches took a hard 68-49 fall against Longview on Tuesday. Nacogdoches has not had much luck with Longview recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Longview got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kendric Brown out in front who scored 13 points. Brown continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Robert Blandburg was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
Nacogdoches now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Longview, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Nacogdoches is on the road again on Thursday and play against Friendswood. Friendswood presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nacogdoches in Texas (Friendswood is ranked 226th, while Nacogdoches is ranked 675th). As for Longview, they will square off against Community at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday. Community has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 14.
