The South Spartans will head out on the road to square off against the Tehachapi Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with South sitting on three straight wins and Tehachapi on eight.
South proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 14) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out North 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Spartans have posted since April 7th.

Sienna Lopez made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zowey Estrada, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.
South always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .541. They are a perfect 16-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Tehachapi narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Golden Valley 8-7.
Like South, Tehachapi also got a great game from a two-way player: Cadence McIrvin. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and only one walk). McIrvin was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
In other batting news, McIrvin Aidan was incredible, going 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Mya Gil was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
South's record is now 20-5. As for Tehachapi, their record now sits at 15-9-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .438. However, it's not like Tehachapi struggles in that department as they've averaged .362. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
South couldn't quite get it done against Tehachapi in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 as they fell 12-8. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
