The Osceola Warriors will face off against the Estero Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Osceola sitting on three straight victories and Estero on four.
Osceola is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let Port Charlotte get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 16 games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Theresa Diez and Jenna Neupaver did most of the damage at the plate: Diez went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and one double, while Neupaver went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Neupaver has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Bri Shephard, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Osceola kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in four consecutive contests.
Estero came out on top against Hudson on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run second inning. The Wildcats took their matchup against the Cobras 12-7.
The team relied heavily on Ava Weinbaum, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Peregrin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Osceola's victory bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Estero, their win bumped their record up to 15-11.
Estero's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Osceola has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game.
