The Tiverton Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Tolman 80-38. While losing is never fun, Tiverton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Rhode Island basketball rankings (they are ranked 44th, while Tolman is ranked fifth).
Tolman got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was John Hilaire out in front who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for him. Nick Fleury was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Tiverton bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Tolman, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.
Tiverton will head out on the road to face off against Johnston at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Johnston is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games. As for Tolman, they will be playing at home against Hope at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
