After losing to the Highlands Christian Knights the last time they met, the Pine Crest Panthers decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Pine Crest came out on top against the Knights by a score of 61-51 on Friday. Pine Crest pushed the score to 51-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Knights cut but never quite recovered from.
Pine Crest found their leader in underclassman Rowan Hoffman, who scored 24 points. Hoffman is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last 11 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kareem Khouri, who scored 12 points.
Pine Crest's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Highlands Christian, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.
Pine Crest will head out on the road to square off against the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Miami Beach knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matches -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge. As for Highlands Christian, they will square off against the Sharks at TBD on Tuesday. Sheridan Hills Christian will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.
