The Redmond Mustangs entered their tilt with the Bishop Blanchet Bears with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Redmond enjoyed a cozy 56-41 win over Bishop Blanchet on Monday. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 23 to 9 on the offensive boards, as Redmond did.
Redmond got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Yuki Willis out in front who scored 12 points along with 5 steals. Willis is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Isabel Schneider was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Bishop Blanchet saw an underclassman step up: Brooke Campbell scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Sadie Graves, who scored 7 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Redmond's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Bishop Blanchet, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Redmond will head out on the road to face off against North Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully North Creek focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. As for Bishop Blanchet, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Seattle Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
