The Unity Eagles will face off against the Amery Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Unity put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. They came out on top against Hayward by a score of 13-10.
Unity's win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Archer Chell, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Another was Bryson Mckenzie, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Amery hadn't done well against St. Croix Central recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 19-8 victory.
Michael Morrissey made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Morrissey was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Logan Doten was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Jacob Maxon was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Amery was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Amery is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Unity, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Unity hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Amery struggles in that department as they've averaged .350. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Unity might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Amery in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
