Softball Recap: Pleasant Valley Has No Trouble Against Pottsville

The Pleasant Valley Bears made easy work of the Pottsville Crimson Tide on Friday and carried off a 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won 12 contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Kailyn Getz made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Jovie Valenzuela was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Maddie Abbatiello was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.

Pleasant Valley pushed their record up to 14-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Pottsville, they moved to 12-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Pleasant Valley nor the Crimson Tide have any future games scheduled.
