Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the South Spencer Rebels walked away with it. They took down the Marksmen 53-38 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for South Spencer.
South Spencer's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Molly Schulte, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Schulte has scored at least a third of South Spencer's points. Another player making a difference was Sally Shelton, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
South Spencer has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season. As for Tell City, they now have a losing record at 11-12.
South Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Tell City does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
