The Buena Colts posted their biggest victory yet this season on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Desert View 75-41 on the road. Given Buena's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 67th, while Desert View is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamin Booker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Deangelo Hawthorne, who scored six points along with four steals.
Buena's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Desert View, they are on a 16-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buena on the road again on Friday and play against Sahuaro at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for Desert View, they will take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
