Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Shallowater). They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Friona Chieftans on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Shallowater is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Friona, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Shallowater is set to square off against their familiar foe Idalou at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Friona will take on rival Littlefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
