The Boca Ciega Pirates were the 50-45 winner over the Clearwater Tornadoes when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Boca Ciega fell 60-49 to Clearwater on Tuesday. Boca Ciega has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jordan Naylor and Antwain Scott certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Naylor dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Scott scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Naylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jeremiah Oriol, who scored four points.
Boca Ciega's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Clearwater, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-10.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Seminole the next time they take the court. Clearwater will host Seminole at 7:45 p.m. on Friday, while Boca Ciega will host them at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
