The Lakota Raiders will challenge the Mohawk Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lakota is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Lakota took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Hopewell-Loudon 7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Raiders have posted since April 9th.

The team relied heavily on AJ Gosche, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups. The team also got some help courtesy of Grant Bomer, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two RBI.

Lakota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Mohawk hadn't done well against Upper Sandusky recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Rams by a score of 6-2. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Rams on their field since May 1, 2019.

Mohawk has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Lakota, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Lakota might still be hurting after the 11-5 loss they got from Mohawk when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
