AAAA Region VII recap Oct. 9, 2012
Wando extended the longest winning streak in AAAA Region VII this week by beating West Ashley, 56-35. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Warriors.
Goose Creek took down Carolina Forest 56-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dantez Bennamon threw for 42 yards and ran for 78 yards in the win.
Goose Creek's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Gators feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Bennamon has thrown for 488 yards and four touchdowns this season, while Tramel Terry has 24 catches for 294 yards. Caleb Kinlaw leads the league in rushing with 561 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Wando and Stratford. Bob Hayes' team enters the game ranked 11th in the state, while the Knights ranks seventh.
Stratford made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 241 from 320. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 28-6 victory over Cane Bay last week.
