Basketball Recap: Madilynn Ellis Key Part of a Team Effort in Panthers Win

Sale Creek won the last time they faced Sequatchie County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Sale Creek Panthers came out on top against the Sequatchie County Indians by a score of 56-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Sale Creek got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Madilynn Ellis out in front who went 6 of 12 on her way to 15 points and three steals. Ellis is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Maggie Garner was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Defeat or not, Sequatchie County got some senior leadership from Curtlyn Lee and Kirklyn Stockwell. Lee dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 boards, while Stockwell went 6 for 9 en route to 16 points.

Sale Creek has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Sequatchie County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Sale Creek wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-41 victory against Copper Basin on the 9th. Sequatchie County has also already played their next match, a 41-27 win against Sale Creek on the 13th.
