Westerly has gone 7-2 against Barrington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Eagles at 1:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Westerly and West Warwick, and Westerly kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-2 win over the Wizards on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wizards: they've now won five in a row.
Rhiannon Doyle tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Bella Mazzarese was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Addison Poole, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Westerly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Barrington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 18-1 win. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 3-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Kendall Fisher (2025) made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aislinn McCoy (2025), who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Ariana Renzi (2025) was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
The victory got Westerly back to even at 2-2. As for Barrington, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Westerly took their victory against Barrington in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-2 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
