The Randleman Tigers lost against the Central Davidson Spartans back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Randleman fell 49-37 to Central Davidson. While losing is never fun, Randleman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while Central Davidson is ranked 27th).
Despite the defeat, Randleman saw an underclassman step up: Connor Cassidy scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Pacey Wagner, who scored nine points.
Randleman's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-3. As for Central Davidson, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Randleman will be home for the holidays to greet Wheatmore at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheatmore has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 20. As for Central Davidson, they will play host again and welcome North Rowan, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
