Bennington had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Seward Bluejays on Saturday as they made off with an 8-1 victory. Considering the Badgers have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Bennington got a great performance from Jarron Utterback as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 5.2 innings pitched. Utterback has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Hunter Spencer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Schuman, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
The win was the 11th in a row for Bennington, bringing their record up to 26-3. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Seward, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-8.
As of now, neither Bennington nor the Bluejays have any future games scheduled.
