Everything went Anacoco's way against Leesville as Anacoco made off with a 14-3 win. Considering the Indians have won nine contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Anacoco got a massive performance out of Ava Davis, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that Davis hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Bryant, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Winnfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 14-9 to Lakeside.
Winnfield got a massive performance out of Kylee Higgs, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Higgs a new career-high. Anna Claire Bartlett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Winnfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Anacoco's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Winnfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
Winnfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anacoco has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Winnfield, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Anacoco's hitters?
