Meanwhile, Winnfield unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 14-9 to Lakeside.
Winnfield got a massive performance out of Kylee Higgs, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave Higgs a new career-high. Anna Claire Bartlett was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Winnfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Anacoco's victory bumped their record up to 13-3. As for Winnfield, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8-1.
Winnfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Anacoco has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .432. It's a different story for Winnfield, though, as they've only averaged .332. Will they be able to contain Anacoco's hitters?
