Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ewing walked away with it. They managed a 63-57 win over the Burlington Township Falcons on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Blue Devils, who have now won eight matchups in a row.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Quayd Hendryx, who shot 41% from the field on his way to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. The contest was Hendryx's third in a row with at least 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Larbie, who went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points.
Ewing's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Burlington Township, their loss dropped their record down to 26-4.
Coming up, Ewing will take on Colts Neck on Friday. Ewing has given up an average of 49.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. Burlington Township does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
