Softball Recap: Hanceville Has No Trouble Against Dora

Hanceville won the last time they faced Dora and things went their way on Saturday too. Everything went Hanceville's way against Dora as Hanceville made off with an 8-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Hanceville.

The team relied heavily on Alex Twitty, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Karrigan Pipkin also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.

Hanceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dora only posted an OBP of .375.

Hanceville pushed their record up to 6-7-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Dora, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-6.

Coming up, Hanceville will welcome Locust Fork at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Locust Fork's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Hanceville's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Dora, they will take on Sumiton Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
