Make it eight blowout wins for the Sebastian River Sharks this season. They blew past Merritt Island 55-20 on the road. With Sebastian River ahead 37-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sebastian River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Destiny Pickard, who scored 12 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Pickard has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of E?mani Pryor, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Merritt Island's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Valeria Irizzary, who scored ten points.
Sebastian River pushed their record up to 14-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Merritt Island, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Sebastian River will be playing at home against Port St. Lucie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Port St. Lucie comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Merritt Island, they will head out on the road to take on Harmony at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
