Basketball Recap: Franklin Central Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Franklin Central lost against Richfield Springs Central back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The contest between the Franklin Central Purple Devils and the Richfield Springs Central Indians didn't end well, with the Franklin Central Purple Devils falling 52-33. The Purple Devils were down 50-22 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the defeat, Franklin Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Zaeda Beadle dropped a double-double on 14 points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beadle has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley McNamara, who posted nine points and four steals.

Franklin Central's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-3. As for Richfield Springs Central, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Franklin Central will head out to face off against Margaretville Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Richfield Springs Central, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Worcester at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
