The Montgomery Aztecs were the 22-0 winner over the Olympian Eagles when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery took a 22-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of Olympian on Friday.
Montgomery's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andie Deanda, who threw for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
Olympian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Coby Dunn out in front who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Jayden Fuentes and his 93 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Olympian's win.
Montgomery has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Olympian, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Montgomery does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Olympian will be playing at home against Escondido Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Escondido Charter is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
