Back of the Yards College Prep has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Victoria Soto Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Wednesday, Back of the Yards College Prep strolled past Woodlawn with points to spare, taking the game 36-21.
Back of the Yards College Prep can attribute much of their success to Nysiara Roby, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, and Natalie Kenny, who scored nine points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Roby has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Belinda Rivera, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Victoria Soto had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 44-26 victory over Bogan.
The win got Back of the Yards College Prep back to even at 5-5. As for Victoria Soto, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Back of the Yards College Prep ended up a good deal behind Victoria Soto when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 44-30. Can Back of the Yards College Prep avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
