The Gilmour Academy Lancers will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against the Fairland Dragons at 9:00 a.m. on January 15th.
Last Tuesday, Gilmour Academy faced St. Vincent-St. Mary in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Gilmour Academy took a 37-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of St. Vincent-St. Mary. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gilmour Academy has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Fairland put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 85-21 win over Gallia Academy on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Fairland has posted since December 4, 2023.
Fairland's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Bailey Russell, who scored 23 points along with six steals. Bree Allen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with four steals.
Gilmour Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Fairland, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.
