Plainfield South has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the West Aurora Blackhawks at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Aurora took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Plainfield South, who comes in off a win.
Even though Plainfield South has not done well against Minooka recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Plainfield South came out on top against Minooka by a score of 65-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Jazlynn Foster, who scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Destynia Mcgruder, who scored 13 points.
West Aurora suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Waubonsie Valley, falling 82-44. While losing is never fun, West Aurora can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while Waubonsie Valley is ranked 15th).
Plainfield South is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for West Aurora, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.
Plainfield South couldn't quite finish off West Aurora when the teams last played back in December of 2022 and fell 61-58. Can Plainfield South avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
