With a playoff win on the line, Archbishop McNicholas rose to the challenge on Friday. They blew past the Chillicothe Cavaliers 35-14. Considering the Rockets have won five contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Despite the defeat, Chillicothe saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Cartae Ligon rushed for 110 yards and a pair of TDs.

Archbishop McNicholas pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.0 points on average over those games. As for Chillicothe, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Archbishop McNicholas will head out on the road to face off against London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Rockets 12.5, the Red Raiders 5.3) so any points scored will be well earned. Chillicothe does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
