The Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos were the 53-42 winner over the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals when they last played one another back in November of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cerro Gordo/Bement was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 50-49 to Warrensburg-Latham.
Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Skye Tieman, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Hill, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds.
Cerro Gordo/Bement has fallen quite a ways from their 22-9 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Warrensburg-Latham, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 1-3 record.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cerro Gordo/Bement will take on Martinsville at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Warrensburg-Latham will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on LeRoy at 11:30 a.m. on December 2nd.
