The Monterey Plainsmen's's three-game losing streak came to an end on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 53-37 victory over El Dorado. Given Monterey's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while El Dorado is ranked 1164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Dorado's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Hunter Hutchisson, who scored 6 points along with 4 steals. Daniel Well was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Monterey now has a winning record of 6-5. As for El Dorado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Canyon the next time they take the court. Monterey will head out to face Canyon at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, while El Dorado will head out to face them at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.
