The King Panthers managed to keep up with the Summer Creek Bulldogs until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. King's rough 33-12 defeat to Summer Creek might stick with them for a while. King's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Darius Clark-James rushed for 78 yards and a touchdown. Rae'G Dailey was his top target, picking up 83 receiving yards.
Summer Creek was led to victory by Blake Thomas and Lloyd Avant. Thomas threw for 115 yards and two touchdowns, while Avant rushed for 177 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Avant was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards.
King's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their overall record down to 6-3. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Summer Creek, Atascocita, and King. As for Summer Creek, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-1 record this season.
King does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Summer Creek also has no future games currently scheduled.
