With a playoff game on the line, Byers rose to the challenge  on Sunday. They really took it to the Merino Rams for the full four quarters, racking up  a  44-14 victory. Fans of the Bulldogs have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+  points.
  Kaleb Willoughby was  his usual excellent self, rushing for 181 yards and four touchdowns.  Aj Engle got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
 Byers' defense stepped up as well, laying out   Coen Schmidt. three times.  Cameron Eastwood was especially locked on to Merino's QB and sacked him twice.
 Merino's loss  came despite strong showings from  Schmidt and  Jacob Frank.  Schmidt rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown, while  Frank gained 95 total yards and a touchdown.
 The  win for Byers keeps them at an undefeated 10-0. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 46.6 points. As for Merino, they have  traveled a rocky road recently having  lost four of their last five games,  which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record  this season.
 Byers is on the road again  on Saturday to play Mancos at 12:00  p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Mancos has won three straight at home, while Byers won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Merino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
