Given Prairie Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 86th, while St. Thomas More is ranked 237th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Prairie Central's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Curl led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Curl has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Levi Goad was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Prairie Central has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for St. Thomas More, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-4.
Prairie Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Morton at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Morton will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
