The offense for Rancho Verde continued to do well in the second half, scoring another 17 points to put the game away.
Rancho Verde found their leader in underclassman freshman Aj Duffy, who picked up 86 yards on the ground and threw 3 TDs. If you haven't heard Duffy's name lately, then you haven't been paying much attention: he has loomed large in their past nine games. Senior Xavier Ugorji was in the mix, too, providing Rancho Verde with two touchdowns.
Rancho Verde have yet to lose this season, and the win brought them up to 9-0. This is the second loss in a row for Paloma Valley and nudges their record down to 5-4.
It's more conference action for Rancho Verde and Paloma Valley in their upcoming matches. Rancho Verde will square off against Heritage at 7:30 PM next week. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a win streak alive as Rancho Verde skips in on nine wins and Heritage on five. Paloma Valley will be playing at home against Valley View at at 7:00 PM next week. Neither of these teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable loss.
