The Bonita Springs Bullsharks will be playing at home against the East Lee County Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Bonita Springs is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Last Friday, Bonita Springs lost to Palmetto Ridge at home by a decisive 51-36 margin. While losing is never fun, Bonita Springs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 794th, while Palmetto Ridge is ranked 67th).
Meanwhile, East Lee County beat South Fort Myers 62-50 on Thursday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory East Lee County has managed all season.
Bonita Springs bumped their record down to 0-16 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. As for East Lee County, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Bonita Springs skirted past East Lee County 73-71 in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was East Lee County's Kinsley Baptiste, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Now that he won't be playing on Monday, will it be that much easier for Bonita Springs to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
