The McLean Highlanders will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Patriot Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, things could have been worse for McLean, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-26 loss to Langley. While losing is never fun, McLean can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Langley is ranked 14th).
Patriot suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Gainesville 60-26. Patriot has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McLean's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Patriot, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.
McLean didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Patriot when the teams last played back in December of 2016, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory. Will McLean repeat their success, or does Patriot have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
