It was another big night for Justin Kayode, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Wilson's points. Ryan Lin was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Despite the loss, Claremont saw an underclassman step up: Yonael (Yona) Banko scored 11 points along with 3 steals. Banko is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xiao Hong (Tony) Wang, who scored 2 points along with 9 rebounds.
Wilson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. As for Claremont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-4.
Wilson will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Walnut at 6:30 p.m. Walnut presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Wilson in California (Walnut is ranked 205th, while Wilson is ranked 803rd). Claremont will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Jurupa Valley at 6:00 p.m. on December 8th. Jurupa Valley is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
