Stevenson is a perfect 10-0 against Glenn since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Spartans will head out to square off against the Rockets at 4:00 p.m. Stevenson's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Glenn's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Howell hit Stevenson with a seven-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans fell just short of the Highlanders by a score of 9-7. The defeat continues a trend for the Spartans in their meetings with the Highlanders: they've now lost eight in a row.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Glenn). They put the hurt on Clarenceville with a sharp 24-0 win on Monday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Rockets considering their two-run performance the contest before.
Dani Jackson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Sam Farrell was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Peyton Hudson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs and three RBI.
Glenn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Glenn's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-12. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 19.3 runs over those games. As for Stevenson, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
Stevenson took their victory against Glenn when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
