The Chireno Owls won the last time they faced the Brook Hill Guard, and things went their way on Friday too. Chireno came out on top in a nail-biter against Brook Hill and snuck past 49-47.
When it comes to explaining why Brook Hill lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brenna Hill. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with 4 steals. Hill scored a full 42.6% of Brook Hill's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Onley, who scored 13 points along with 5 rebounds.
Chireno's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Brook Hill, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-2.
Chireno will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Broaddus at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Brook Hill's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gladewater at 2:45 p.m. on December 1st. Gladewater will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 788th, while Brook Hill is ranked 183rd).
